HUBICKI OBSOLETE TRIO

Kacper Hubicki, violin

Joan Fort Nieto, guitar

Gašper Livk, double bass

Hubicki Obsolete Trio is an ensemble based in Amsterdam and performs Great American
Songbook, Swing, and Gypsy Jazz repertoire in original arrangements for violin guitar, and double bass. The Trio’s name is a homage to the popular music of the early 20th century that nowadays seems to have gone out of fashion. By performing the forgotten tunes we hope to bring them back to life – even if only for a brief moment.

Kacper Hubicki (born in 1998) is a Polish jazz violinist and composer based in Amsterdam. He started his study at Jazz Institut Berlin in 2017 at the age of 19.
There, he met and studied with Peter Weniger, David Friedman, Greg Cohen, Ulli Bartel, Stephan Braun, Dragan Radosavievic, and others. Since 2017 he’s been also active on the Berlin jazz scene performing in several projects – both small such as Solo Violin Loop Act or duo (Hubicki/Bogen Duo) and bigger ensembles - Hubicki Obsolete Trio, Kacper Hubicki Quintet, Composers Orchestra Berlin and many more. Starting in 2020 Kacper studies with Dré A. Hočevar.
